Meet your Hosts
Karen Mendez
Karen is a business professional and event producer based in the Los Angeles area. As fan of such splendid novels like The Sword of Truth, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and The Hunger Games, it was only a matter of time before completely falling in love with Deborah Harkness’s All Souls trilogy. As a lover of all things artistic and altruistic, this event serves as a perfect pairing for her. Speaking of pairings, good eats and great wines go hand in hand with her love of travel.
P.S. She’s a huge fan of the epic brilliance that is The X-Files…All Souls…hmmm…connection?
Laura Ventura
Laura is a marketing professional based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She would be perfectly happy to live in a world with witches, daemons, and vampires. Inspired by her geek friends, she started to attend conventions in 2010, and has been addicted ever since. A big foodie, she has obsessed about the All Souls Trilogy ever since she found out that wine, Mariage Frères tea, and smart women were featured in the books. As a fan of The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, the Sword of Truth, and The Hunger Games novels, it was natural for her to love Deborah Harkness’s masterpiece trilogy. She enjoys traveling, art history, epic soundtracks, and loves Hamish Osborne, Goody Alsop, and Stephen Proctor.
